“What is your star sign?”
Many of us will think of our Sun sign when asked this question. The Sun sign forms the core of your astrological chart and horoscopes are composed with this in mind.
The zodiac is formed of 12 signs, each associated with a constellation. As the Earth orbits around the Sun, the sky – and constellations – appear to move over the course of the year. When the Sun is perceived to be in a specific constellation, we are believed to be under its influence.
The start and end dates of each sign’s influence are fixed.
Your Sun sign refers to the constellation the Sun was in at the time of your birth. The Sun sign will be the same for everyone born during that specific time of year.
The Sun sign offers insight into your core being. It is your identity and essence. While there are multiple influences that may affect how you come across to others, you will usually most closely identify with your Sun sign. It is what you see yourself as.
The 12 signs are:
- Aries
- Taurus
- Gemini
- Cancer
- Leo
- Virgo
- Libra
- Scorpio
- Sagittarius
- Capricorn
- Aquarius
- Pisces
