In modern romance ideas the soulmate is seen as the one romantic partner for the rest of your life. You just need to find them. The “One”.
What this idea forgets is that there are many types of people who come into our lives and bring us love, comfort, and guidance.
There are actually multiple types of soulmate out there for you to meet. Not all soulmates are romantic. They each serve a purpose in your life.
Soulmates are part of our soul family and we will often have past life connections with them.
Here are 4 main types of soulmates you may encounter.
The Friend
The Friend is someone you feel you easily connect with on first meeting them. It could be an instant click, or it could be more of a “recognition”. They feel good to be around, and lift your spirits.
Meeting soul friends will feel easy and peaceful. They seem to understand us better than other people do, and we will find it easier to confide in them than other acquaintainces, even if we do not know them very well.
You will share similar interests and have similar personality traits, which makes bonding with them effortless.
The Teacher
The Teacher will offer you guidance, sometimes in unexpected forms. You will learn something from them which will help your growth as an individual.
We are attracted to them as our relationship with them reflects something we need to learn in ourselves. This could happen as a result of a tumultuous relationship, for example, in which we need to learn how to control our emotions.
The Teacher is someone you may have an attraction to as they will come to provide you with a valuable lesson about something you crave. Perhaps they are a lover, but they could be also a platonic friend, a family member or an acquaintance. The teacher might only stay in your life for a limited period of time to offer you a lesson for a specific period in your life.
The Bosom Friend
This is someone close to your heart; you feel they truly understand and know your soul. If you cry, they cry and their minds are close to yours at all times.
The bosom friend may not be in constant contact but you feel when something is wrong with them. You may offer to call them to find out something has happened which they were longing to share. You feel in harmony with one another and share a similar outlook to life.
Your friendship with the bosom friend will be long. Regardless of the actual length of the friendship, you sense that this person will stay in your life for decades.
If you form a relationship with a soulmate of this group, this will likely be a happy and long one. Your may grow apart over time but breaking apart from them will not cause much drama and you can maintain a friendly connection to them.
The Twin Soul
Some consider the twin soul to be your other half – a part of your own soul. You will feel a very intense attraction to them and they will typically be in your life as a lover.
This is someone you connect with deeply; you don’t just have sex, you make love. Connection with the Lover will feel blissful and you feel truly seen and whole. They may seem to be filling some sort of missing piece in you.
You are not the same in everything nor are you the opposite. Your core values align. It is almost as if they have lived a completely different life to reach the same conclusions you have. It may feel like they complete you: where you may have insecurities they have great strength, and vice versa. You challenge each other and build each other up.
There is an unspoken understanding between you and simply being around them fills your being with joy.
